Just after the stroke of midnight today my site meter raced stumbled past the FIVE THOUSAND mark. Since the 5,000th visitor came here via Wadcutter, head over and get yourself some big fat meplats of wisdom.
In honor of this great moment, I will now post a five thousand word essay on the theme celebrate.

Bernie, waiting for the limo to arrive before his son's wedding. I snuck up and snapped this photo.

Cleaning the tires on the new fire truck just before the wetdown. While this new truck is beautiful, you should be able to find a photo of the tiller truck at the Suffern Volunteer Fire Department's page. Maybe I can dig up some tiller truck photos for another post.

My brother [Trooper Joe] celebrating his right to keep and bear arms. That's his Kimber Custom. I've been working some really long shifts this weekend, and the temperatures have been in the high 30s. Of course, next weekend when I'm off the temperatures will drop back down to zero. It's been so long since I've gone shooting, I might just head out in the frigid air!

Celebrating the national pasttime. I was waiting for my niece's field hockey game to start, and snapped a few photos.

Taking a moment to enjoy the barren landscape somewhere near the Arctic Circle. My buddy Brandon and I did a short trip around the state this past summer. I don't remember if this is just north, or just south, of the Arctic Circle; it's nearby either way. The photo was taken shortly before midnight; what the locals refer to as sunset. At least in the summer they do.
So that's it, folks; 5,000+ word essay Resurgemus style! Thanks again to all the folks who swing by this site and make it worth the effort to post things. Here's to the next five thousand visitors.
