Had some folks over this weekend. Tyler and Desi stopped by for a few hours on Friday night for some photos. I was exhausted [I worked Thursday night, and stayed up all Friday]. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up through fatigue and lack of attention to detail. I'll be getting the photos developed this week.
Unfortunately, I also had a no-show this weekend. That seems to happen to me a great deal; folks make plans to come over and have their portrait done, and then I never hear from them.
This time wasn't as bad. First of all, I got to snap some photos on Friday night. Secondly, I was pretty tired and probably wouldn't have done much that day anyway. Last July I agree to take photos of a friend's son. The only day they could schedule was a day I was slated to work. I took a day of leave, and wasted it sitting in the apartment wondering "where they heck are they?" 78°F and sunny, and I'm watching re-runs of Three's Company.
Maybe I should start charging a deposit, or just get a little more selective in who I agree to shoot. I think over the past year, I've had more no-shows than actual photo shoots. Maybe people just take advantage of the fact that I work for cheap, and that it's a hobby of mine and not a source of income. I think I've had seven different folks bail out on me [without calling] a total of ten times.
I know, I know. That means that three people bailed out on me twice each. Shame on me for even agreeing to reschedule. Won't happen again, mates!
