When a small town purchases a new fire truck for the local volunteer fire department, it's often celebrated with a "wetdown."
A few years ago my hometown replaced the old Sutphen tower ladder with a brand new one. The parked the big rig in front of the firehouse, and each of the neighboring fire companies pulled up one by one and gave it a baptism of sorts. It was quite the celebration.
