The raven is a scavenger. Fireweed is a pioneer species, quickly taking over areas destroyed by forest fire. I figure there isn't much life in the area photographed outside of the bird and the flowers. In a short time -- geologically speaking -- the tract of land will be back to where it was before the fire. Shortly after, it'll be destroyed again, only to await the ravens and the fireweed. Circle of life.
