I bought a few movies off the net a week or two ago. First up, The Devil & Daniel Webster (1941). Now I know for every great movie from that era, there was probably a thousand crappy ones. It just seems as if there's something missing from films these days. I enjoyed it start to finish. You should watch it to hear Daniel Webster's speech to the jury of the damned at the end.
Although, The Salton Sea is a new movie, and that's next on my list. I bought it a year ago, loaned it out, and had to go buy it again. Man, that Vincent D'Onofrio can act. I'm a fan of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and wanted to see how he was in a movie. Worth. Every. Penny.
I first heard about the movie while searching for info on the actual Salton Sea, after seeing Troy Paiva's photography of the area.
I don't watch much TV during the spring, fall, and summer. In the winter, though, it's time to hunker down and watch the tube. To hold me out for the rest of the year I've got some Steve McQueen, some Eastwood, a little Jack Nicholson, and Stalag 17.
