Bryant Gumbel is on every channel.

This has the same effect on football fans that the SOTU address has on kids. I'm about 30 seconds away from trying the closed caption and muting the TV.

Update: Closed caption isn't any better. I don't want to read Chris Collinsworth any more than I want to listen to Bryant Gumbel.

Update II: I'm not the only one who thinks Bryant Gumbel sucks. In fact, it seems to be a consensus that Bryant Gumbel sucks.

The story is old (from mid-April) but I hadn't seen this photo before.

The croc bit the veterinarian's arm off as he tried to apply an anesthetic. One question -- Umm, was the tranq gun not working or something? Actually, reading further it states they tried to fire a pair of bullets into the croc, but the bullets didn't penetrate the thick skin. Seems like they need a bigger gun.

I hereby resolve to not complain about my job for the rest of the year.

An old New Jersey Air National Guard F-106 escorts a big Soviet bomber off the coast of Atlantic City. A friend of the family (or his wingman?) snapped this photo, and some twenty years later I scanned it in.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the F-106 on Mr. Baugher's page. If the tail number is 90033, then that makes it an F-106A. I think.

Someone out in Wyoming found an orphaned coyote pup.

You have got to see it to believe it. Probably the best blog I've visited in a while.
